Gáspár Kelemen

B. 2008, Hungary
Gáspár Kelemen, born in Budapest, comes from a family of artists that goes all the way back to his great-grandfather Pertis Pali, a celebrated Gypsy Prímás. Gáspár Kelemen began his musical education at age five with Éva Szily Ácsné. He later studied at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music under Eszter Perényi and the Yehudi Menuhin School under Lutsia Ibragimova and Boris Brovtsyn.

He has won numerous competitions, including the 2015 Gianluca Campochiaro International Music Competition and the 2022 Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition. Notably, he was a finalist in the 2023 Bartók World Competition as the youngest competitor in the competition’s history.

He has performed with orchestras like the MÁV Symphony and Concerto Budapest and collaborated with esteemed musicians like Gábor Takács-Nagy, Maxim Rysanov, Boris Brovtsyn and Mate Bekavac. Kelemen also plays folk and Gypsy music, refining his skills through masterclasses with various distinguished musicians such as Zakhar Bron, Mihaela Martin or Hagai Shaham.
