Shared first prize: Angela Chan and Jacques Forestier are the winners of the 12th Joseph Joachim Violin Competition of the Stiftung Niedersachsen in Hanover

Both impressed the international jury equally with their final concert and the world premiere of “Feder”, the piece commissioned by Enno Poppe for the 2024 competition, and will now receive 15,000 euros each.

From 16 to 28 September 2024 23 of the world's top violin talents will perform at the 12th Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover. Audiences can look forward to world-class concerts at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media (HMTMH) and the NDR Konzerthaus.

The participants of the 2024 Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover have been chosen

The Stiftung Niedersachsen invites 24 young violinists from 12 countries to the Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover. A total of 131 musicians applied. The selected participants will now present themselves in front of international jury, concert organisers, the Hanoverian audience and an international audience via livestream from 16 to 28 September 2024.

The 25-year-old US-American convinced the international jury consisting of Carolin Widmann, Ana Chumachenco, Suyoen Kim, Christine Schäfer, Zohrab Tadevosyan, Ulf Wallin, Donald Weilerstein, Robert Levin, Eleonore Büning and Andrew Manze in the final concert.
